Towing with the Ford F-150 Lightning

America’s best-selling truck just became electric with the all-new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. With the most torque of any F-150 ever, the Ford Lightning does not sacrifice any muscle for its environmental benefits.

The F-150 Lightning has unmatched hauling capabilities and storage capacity that outperforms a traditional truck. Add in a 10,000-pound towing capacity and a 0-to-60-mph time in the mid-four-second range, and you have the record-breaking Ford Lightning that leaves the stigmas against electric in the dust.

Built for the Long Haul

How is Towing Different with the Lightning?

The Lightning Pro Trailer Backup Assist simplifies towing with a knob by tracking the trailer while you back up and guide it. In addition, Ford’s Trailer Brake Controller (TBC) automatically engages the trailer brakes when you press yours for added safety and dependability in your haul.

What Added Features does the Lightning provide?

The F-150 Lightning’s modernized Smart Hitch streamlines hauling by calculating weight distribution on your mobile phone in the FordPass app. On-Board Scales also display load information on the center touchscreen and the FordPass app.

Vast Range and Lightning Charging

How is Long-Distance Traveling with the Lightning?

The extended range capabilities of the Ford Lightning give drivers up to 3o0 miles on the road, and with over 75,000 charging stations across the nation (and more added weekly), you can travel with confidence.

How Long Does it Take to Charge?

When tested, the F-150 Lightning extended range battery can recharge in around 8 hours with the Ford Charge Station Pro. Similarly, the Mobile Power Cord recharges your Lightning in 20 hours.

Unmistakably Modern Design

Does it drive smoothly?

The Ford Lightning offers the same classic look you love in the Ford F series with a few modern twists to improve your next expedition. With a wheelbase over 12 feet in length and a low center of gravity, the F-150 Lightning ensures an effortless driving experience no matter how heavy the haul.

Is There Enough Storage?

With three bed options, 5.5 foot, 6.5 foot, and 8 foot, there is ample space for hauling your tools. The spacious front truck also offers drivers an added 400 lbs of storage with water-resistant matting, four outlets, and two USB chargers. Added under-seat storage in the rear gives Lightning owners more secure areas to stow gear.

What’s Inside?

The Lightning features an interior workspace for an office in between adventures. In the upgraded Platinum edition, sleek leather seats line the vehicle with heat and ventilation capabilities. The front dash is centered around a giant 15-inch touchscreen with a twin-panel moonroof overhead and surrounded by eight speakers and a subwoofer from Bang & Olufson.
