Breast Cancer Awareness

Did you know one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime? With breast cancer as the second most common cancer in American women, maintaining proper breast health is crucial.

Monitoring your breast health with self and yearly exams increases your chances of catching cancer early. Breast cancers found during screening exams are more likely to be smaller and less likely to have spread outside of the breast. That is why it is essential to know your body and monitor it closely so you can catch any abnormalities that may arise.

What is BK Ford Doing to Help?

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bird Kultgen Ford is teaming up with Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest to raise awareness of the importance of breast health. For BK-Ford’s 86th anniversary, we are providing 86 free mammograms to women in need.

Without insurance, mammograms can be costly, and with increased need in the Waco area, BK Ford wants to ensure no one ever sacrifices their health because of financial constraints. “We were inspired to be able to assist women who need our help while bolstering awareness that we cannot skip annual mammograms,” Claire Kultgen McDonald said, President at Bird Kultgen Ford.

Visit our Breast Cancer Awareness page to learn more about proper breast health and the importance of yearly mammograms. If you need a donated mammogram, please call 254-202-4220 (Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest can provide information on assistance).
