2024 Ford F-250

What's the Difference Between the 2024 Ford F-150 and F-250?

The Ford F-Series trucks are some of the most popular on the road each year. Since the two models have some significant differences, one version may better fit Waco, Texas, drivers than the other. In this article, our Bird Kultgen Ford team discusses the Ford F-150 and F-250 in detail to help drivers choose the best truck for their needs. View our inventory of New Ford Vehicles, or If you have any questions, give us a call at 254-633-3006 today! Understanding the Ford F-Series Ford has built a reputation for delivering high-quality trucks for years thanks to its F-Series. Whether Waco drivers want a versatile everyday truck or something more rugged, Ford ensures they can find the perfect vehicle for their needs. Two of the best options are the 2024 Ford F-150 and F-250. more Key Differences Between the 2024 Ford F-150 and F-250 The 2024 Ford F-150 and F-250 have a few essential variations. Size and Payload Capacity One of the primary contrasts between the 2024 Ford F-150 and the F-250 is the payload capacity. Since the F-250 is a larger truck, it can handle a much heavier load in the truck bed. The maximum payload capacity for the F-150 is 2,445 pounds with the right equipment. Although that's sufficient for the average owner, some drivers need a more capable vehicle, which is where the F-250 comes in. Its payload capacity maxes out at 4,268 pounds, a noteworthy increase over the F-150 model and impressive for those with serious hauling needs. Towing Capacity Like the payload capacity, the towing capacity is much higher in the 2024 F-250 than in the F-150. At its best, the F-150 has a maximum towing capacity of 13,500 pounds with a V-8 engine. The F-250 gets a significant bump over this total, with a maximum rating of 22,000 pounds with a 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel engine. That extra 8,500 pounds of towing capacity can make a big difference when towing heavier items, such as a trailer or RV. Engine Options The 2024 Ford F-150 and F-250 have several engine options. With the F-150, the base option is a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 that produces 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. A 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 produces 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, a 5.0-liter V-8 produces 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, and a hybrid powertrain produces 430 horsepower. The Raptor trim has two unique engine options. The base engine on the F-250 is a 6.8-liter V-8 that produces 405 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. The next step up is a 7.3-liter V-8 engine that produces 430 horsepower, followed by two 6.7-liter engines. The first, a Power Stroke V-8 Turbo Diesel, produces 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. The second is a High Output Power Stroke V-8 Turbo Diesel, which maxes out at 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. The F-250 offers more in terms of both horsepower and torque, which is in line with its heavy-duty status. The increased horsepower and torque allow it to handle tougher jobs. Trim Levels The 2024 Ford F-150 and F-250 offer several trim options, making finding the right combination of features and price easier. Eight trim levels are available for the 2024 Ford F-150: the XL, STX, XLT, Tremor, LARIAT, King Ranch, Platinum, and Raptor. The F-250 offers six trim levels, with several the same as the F-150 model, except it doesn't have the STX or Tremor, and the top trim is the Limited rather than the Raptor. Price Range The base version of the 2024 Ford F-150 has a starting MSRP of $36,570, while the highest trim, the Raptor, starts at $77,980. Since the 2024 Ford F-250 provides higher performance specs, it's also more expensive. The base model starts at $44,970, while the highest-level trim, the Limited, starts at $97,095. Although the price range for the F-250 is predominantly higher, some F-250 models are comparable to the F-150, depending on the trim level. Common Features and Advantages While there are some key differences between the F-150 and the F-250, they also have many features and advantages in common. Safety Both models are available with the latest safety innovations, which can help protect Waco drivers on the road. Some of the safety features available with both models include: Automated emergency braking. Lane-departure warning. Adaptive cruise control. A rear-facing camera for trailer monitoring. Lane centering. Front collision mitigation. Rear parking sensors. Rear child safety locks. Many other safety features are available. We highly recommend our customers explore both models in depth to see all the safety features they offer. Interior Comfort No matter which truck drivers select, they can expect a comfortable driving experience. Both models feature deluxe cabins, especially on higher-level trims. The cabins feature comfortable materials throughout and maximize driver convenience. For example, drivers can fold the 10-speed automatic shift lever into the center console to create a large workspace. There's also plenty of space for passengers; even taller passengers should feel comfortable in the rear seats. Technology Waco drivers can expect many of the latest technological innovations in the F-150 and F-250. While both trucks have a 12-inch infotainment display in the dashboard's center, the F-250 only features this on the upper trims. The other F-250 trims feature an 8-inch touch-screen display. This device runs the latest version of the SYNC 4 software, making it easier than ever for drivers to control various vehicle settings, play their favorite media, and access all sorts of other features. Other available technology on both trucks includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, voice command recognition, and a three-month trial to SiriusXM. Choosing the Right Ford Truck Which truck is better for Waco drivers? It all depends on their needs. The average driver will likely prefer the F-150, as it's a capable truck with many features, but at a more affordable price. But those who need a truck for work or to tow and haul heavy loads will want to explore the F-250 models. Schedule a Test Drive in Waco, Texas Today! 2024 F150 Raptor

2024 F150 Raptor Towing Capacity & Engine Performance

The Ford Raptor nameplate is known for toughness, durability, speed, and power. Ford designed the high-performance trucks and SUVs that bear the Raptor name to excel off-road while performing admirably on the road, too. One of the most notable Ford Raptor models is the F-150 Raptor. First released for the 2010 model year, the F-150 SVT Raptor quickly gained notoriety for its off-road performance. The latest F-150 Raptors continue this tradition of excellence with a few new bells and whistles to better fit the times. Our team at Bird Kultgen Ford has put together this complete walkthrough of the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor's towing capacity and engine performance. more Raw Power Unleashed: Engine Performance At the heart of every 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor is a powerful engine. Depending on if the customer opts for the standard Raptor or the Raptor R, their truck will come with one of two engine options: A 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost high-output engine that generates 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. A 5.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine that produces 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. Each engine comes with a paddle-shifted 10-speed automatic transmission that sends power to every wheel through a standard four-wheel-drive system. Regardless of the chosen motor, Ford built the F-150 Raptor to perform both off-road and on the road. Combined with four-wheel drive, these potent engines ensure the truck can conquer any terrain. Plus, with a refined suspension that includes Fox internal-bypass dampers and a five-link rear coil-spring setup, the ride will be as smooth as possible no matter what kind of road you and your F-150 Raptor take. Hauling Beyond Limits: Towing Capacity To maximize off-road effectiveness, the F-150 Raptor sacrifices a small amount of towing and payload capacity compared to a regular F-150. A normal F-150 Raptor boasts a maximum towing capacity of 8,300 pounds, while the Raptor R pulls up to 8,700 pounds. Both Raptor models have a maximum payload capacity of 1,400 pounds. Regular F-150s, depending on their engine type, can pull between 13,000 and 14,000 pounds, with maximum payload capacities ranging from 1,840 to 3,250 pounds. Still, other versions of the F-150 don't match the Raptor's ability to haul heavy loads while traversing almost any environment. This combination of capabilities makes the Raptor an ideal choice for towing a trailer, boat, or almost anything else, regardless of your final destination or the road it takes to get there. Other towing-friendly features available on the F-150 Raptor include: A Class IV trailer hitch with a smart trailer tow connector, a seven pin to four pin connector, and a Class IV trailer hitch receiver. Front and rear tow hooks. A tailgate step that folds down from the open tailgate to provide an easy step into the truck bed. Ford's smart hitch, which activates through the center touch screen to determine the approximate trailer tongue weight and whether the trailer weight is distributed correctly. Dynamic Hitch Assist to help the driver quickly line up and attach their trailer to the F-150 Raptor. Fully automatic adaptive suspension that, depending on the selected drive mode, adjusts the Raptor's shock absorbers in real time to match the road surface and driver inputs, giving the driver enhanced vehicle control, especially when towing or hauling heavy loads. Power Beyond the Pavement: Off-Road Towing As mentioned above, while the Raptor sacrifices some overall towing and hauling output compared to the normal F-150, it more than compensates for it when doing off-road towing. Ford designed every inch of the F-150 Raptor to shine off-road, especially when towing. Some of the key highlights that maximize the F-150's off-road towing performance include: A five-link rear suspension featuring extra-long trailing arms, a Panhard rod, and 24-inch coil springs. With the Raptor's sophisticated engine, this suspension allows the Raptor to send more torque to the rear wheels for faster acceleration and better throttle responsiveness while producing more comfort, stability, handling, control, and traction over rugged landscapes. Front and rear Fox Live Valve internal bypass shocks provide position-sensitive damping adjustability, allowing the Raptor to resist heat buildup better and react quicker to terrain changes. Terrain Management System with seven selectable modes (Normal, Slippery, Sport, Tow/Haul, Off-Road, Baja, and Rock Crawl). This system makes it possible to adjust the Raptor to best meet the road, or lack thereof, around. Heavy-duty skid plates to protect the Raptor's undercarriage. Trail Control with Trail 1-Pedal Drive and Trail Turn Assist. 35- or 37-inch tires give the Raptor additional ground clearance, allowing you to maneuver through more types of environments. Balancing Power and Efficiency: Engine Performance While the EPA has yet to rate the 2024 F-150 Raptor's fuel economy, the 2023 F-150 Raptor performed admirably in this category. The 2023 Raptor with the V-6 achieved 15 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. When equipped with the V-8, the Raptor reached 10 mpg in the city and 15 mpg on the highway. These figures stack up favorably to competitors such as the Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado. The 3.5L V-6 EcoBoost, available only on the Raptor, allows the truck to generate substantial output while maintaining respectable fuel economy. Also, the F-150 Raptor comes standard with an extended range via its 36-gallon fuel tank. So, although it won't achieve the mileage of a sedan, drivers won't have to worry about frequently filling up during their adventures. Unmatched Towing and Performance: 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor If you're an off-road enthusiast or spend a lot of time outdoors, the 2024 F-150 Raptor is an ideal choice that excels off-road and will haul or tow across virtually any terrain. It was such a fun afternoon getting to witness the options that are built into this Ford F-150! more View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bird Kultgen Ford (@bkfordwaco) If you’re new to learning about the Ford F-150 Lightning and have questions, here’s a little more information regarding America’s first fully electric truck: The F-150 Lightning is the smartest, most innovative F-150 that Ford has ever built, with the freedom of a 10-kilowatt smart power plant on wheels, software updates that can make it even better over time and Built Ford Tough capability. It’s also the fastest-accelerating F-150 yet, with a 0-60 mph time in the mid-4-second range when equipped with an extended-range battery. Aside from its speed and power, its towing capability is pretty remarkable as well. Onboard Scales use the truck’s sensors to estimate payload and tell customers how much they’re hauling so they can utilize the full capability of the truck and adjust their driving style as needed. And since payload can impact range, Onboard Scales is integrated with Intelligent Range to help ensure F-150 Lightning gives an accurate range estimate. Let’s talk about the F-150 Lightning at home. Home charging is straightforward with Ford preferred installation provider Sunrun. Extended-range battery customers with an 80 amp Connected Charge Station Pro can get a full charge overnight on AC power with dual on-board chargers. Aside from your home powering your Lighting, your Lighting can actually power your home. The F-150 Lightning, together with a home integration system, can power a house during an outage for three days and in time will be able to offer power back to the grid. At BK Ford, we’re pumped to have a Lightning here and be offering test drives this summer! Are you ready to experience better? Swing by BK to learn more about the Ford F-150 Lightning.

A Hybrid for Truck Lovers

Ford introduced its first Hybrid Truck option in the 2021 Ford F-150 lineup. F-150 Truck lovers can now purchase a hybrid version of their favorite pickup without forfeiting payload or towing capacity. The Ford F-150 Hybrid boasts best in-class horsepower and torque rating, making the purchase of a hybrid truck a realistic and fuel efficient alternative to traditional truck ownership. The Ford F-150 Hybrid pairs a twin-turbocharged V6 engine with an electric motor that contributes 35 KW or 47 horsepower to the drivetrain. The battery is located under the truck, so cargo and passenger space is not sacrificed. All F-150 Crew Cabs are available in a hybrid model. The hybrid option transforms this truck into an onboard generator system that can provide 7.2 kilowatts of electricity to outlets located in the truck bed. Drivers can be sure they are never without electricity or power again! The Ford F-150 Hybrid runs smoothly and boosts the 3.5-liter truck’s EPA fuel efficiency by 20 percent, elevating the truck’s estimated city/highway combined mpg to 25. The F-150 Hybrid also gets an EPA-estimated range of 750 miles on a single fill-up of its 30.6-gallon tank, saving both time and money. F-150 Truck buyers now have more choices than ever before. Owning a hybrid is no longer impossible for people who want a Ford Tough Truck. Come see what we have to offer at Bird-Kultgen Ford in Waco, Tx. Whether you prefer the traditional F-150, the new Hybrid or want to reserve an all-electric Lightning, we can help you find the perfect F-150 for your lifestyle.
