The new 2021 Ford Explorer is a sleek and stylish take on the traditional sports-utility vehicle. With some trim options providing top speeds of up to 143 MPH, this isn’t a run of the mill SUV. This SUV is Ford tough, sporty, stylish, and built with families in mind. Let’s take a closer look and see why this vehicle is one of the best on the market today.

Your Complete Guide to the 2021 Ford Explorer

Engine

The engine is the most important part of any car and that’s why this vehicle comes with your choice of three different engine options. The standard option is the fuel-efficient 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 turbocharged engine with direct injection TI-VCT, 300 horsepower, and 300 lb-ft of torque.

The upgraded EcoBoost engine is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 400 horsepower, and 415 lb-ft of torque. The other engine option is an impressive 3.3-liter hybrid naturally aspirating V-6 engine with 318 horsepower and 322 lb-ft of torque.

Interior Comfort

This new SUV may look sporty on the outside, but its roomy and comfortable interior is clearly built for families. The vehicle seats seven people and includes a third row for passengers and cargo, as well as storage space behind the third row. The vehicle has luxurious leather upholstery, as well as heated seats and steering wheel.

Upgrade to the Platinum trim for a truly royal interior as it includes diamond perforated leather seating surfaces with accent stitching, making the interior a glamorous work of art.

Five Trims

The new Explorer comes in one of five different trim options: standard, XLT, Limited, ST, and Platinum. The standard trim option starts at $32,225 and the Platinum starts at $54,480. The other three trims are somewhere in the middle between the two, but all five trims come with their own standard and optional features which truly customize the Explorer in a variety of different ways.

Entertainment

The standard option comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment console, but you can upgrade it to a 10.1-inch vertically oriented screen which resembles a large tablet propped right against the dashboard. The futuristic entertainment system includes six-speakers, FordPass Connect with 4G LTI Wi-Fi Hotspot, ApplePlay, Android Auto, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

You can upgrade the already premier speakers as well to a B&O sound system with twelve speakers.

Safety

Safety is the paramount concern when it comes to the design and production of every Ford vehicle. That’s why the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the new Ford Explorer a 5-out-of-5-star crash test rating. The SUV also comes with other safety features such as Ford’s patented Hill Descent Control and Terrain Management System.

There’s a reason why Ford Explorers are families’ first choice in sports-utility vehicles, and that’s because our vehicles come with everything you could ever want in an SUV.
