Can a Ford Lightning power a house?

Short answer, yes. A 2022 Ford F-150 lightning, with either the 90-kWh standard range battery pack or the 131-kWh extended range pack, can utilize its stored energy to provide backup power to a home as the owners see fit. In the event of a power outage, an F-150 Lightning can power a house. Alternatively, it can be used to power your camper, jobsite, or even another electric vehicle, the possibilities are endless!

 

What’s the range of the Ford F-150 Lightning?

Because the all new Ford F-150 Lightning has completed final EPA testing, Ford does have accurate numbers on range, though it depends on trim levels. F-150 Lightning XLT and Lariat trims with the extended range battery take you an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles while the F-150 Lightning Platinum has an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles. Fleet customers have the option to purchase the extended range battery on Lightning Pro and that has an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles. Table Below.

That depends on the trim level (and your location). The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck will cost anywhere from $39,974 to upwards of $95,000 (in Central Texas) with every available option. All models for the 2022 year will be 4-door, 5-passenger SuperCrew trucks with 5.6 foot cargo beds. You can choose from the Pro, XLT, Lariat, or Platinum mocels.

 

Is the Ford F-150 Lightning fast?

In one word, Yes. The lightning has nearly instantaneous torque giving you the jaw-dropping, stomach churning, thrill inducing joy you experienced as a kid on a roller coaster. The F-150 Lightning can tow up to an impressive 10,000 lbs, specifically when it’s equipped with the Extended Range battery, with a max payload of up to 2,000 with the basic battery pack. And for those who like to keep track, with the Ford onboard scale system, you can see directly from your touchscreen how much weight you’re currently towing.
